Alright, y’all…
I’ve put this off all day long.
But I guess it’s time.
Huh?

I mean, no point procrastinating any longer.
It’s got to be done…
May as well get it over with, right?
Ok then…

It’s officially time to say…

GOODBYE 👋 to the old page…

and

👋 HELLOOOOO to the new one!

We decided to keep both pages up and updating through today just to be sure that no one missed out on any important details.

But don’t worry! The new page is gonna be full of all the details and information and photos and facts that you’re cravin’, and y’all won’t even miss this one!

So here’s to lots of fun posts and chats and messages and friendly banter… to photo sharing and information swapping and keepin’ each other in the loop!

We’ll still be doin’ it all — we’ll just be doin’ it on the new page instead of this one!

What am I doing this week, you ask?

Hmmm… 🤔

Oh wait… you didn’t ask. I knew that!

(See? I haven’t totally lost it! Haha!)

But I’ll tell you anyway.

I’m spending most evenings at the fairgrounds helping set up for this weekend.

Why?

Because a fair like this doesn’t run itself. It takes time, people, and a whole lot of both.

The truth is, we’re a small group of volunteers who put in the hours (and sometimes the enormous effort) to make the Newport Agricultural Fair the special event it is. But as with everything, time changes things. People grow older, lives evolve… and the list of “Things To Do For The Fair” never seems to get shorter.

So here’s the bottom line:

We need help from our community if we’re going to keep this incredible tradition growing strong.

We need volunteers willing to come out and help set up tables and benches, sweep out buildings, sort ribbons, set up rooms, hang banners, stock bathrooms… all the behind-the-scenes work that happens before the fair.

And we’ll need help taking it all down when it’s over.

Some might say it’s a thankless job.

They’d be wrong.

Step over to where the children are playing games on Saturday and look at those smiles.

Stop by the Treasurer’s booth and hear the excitement as people collect their winnings.

Listen to the cheers from the horse show.

Watch families stroll through the vendor rows, just enjoying time together with no hustle or bustle… just community.

That’s what makes it worth it.

If you have a little time to give and a little community spirit to share, we would truly appreciate your help.
Contact any member of the board (names are in the fair book) or stop by the Treasurer’s booth during the fair for more information.

Either way… we hope to see you at the fair!

And we still hope you’ll stop by and say HI! 👋 or maybe even join us for a line dance or two on Friday night from 7:00-9:00… just sayin’…
