Navy Band Northeast’s Protocol Jazz Combo recently visited South Kingstown and North Kingstown High Schools in Rhode Island to celebrate the 100th anniversary of legendary jazz saxophonist and former Navy musician John Coltrane.

Students at South Kingstown joined the combo for a performance of “Blue Train,” while students at North Kingstown took part in a Q&A about jazz, Coltrane’s legacy, and careers in Navy music.

It was a privilege to share America’s art form and connect these students with their U.S. Navy through music.

On Memorial Day, our Crosswinds Woodwind Quintet was honored to participate in the World War II American Experience during Harrisburg Navy Week. 🇺🇸

It was a true honor to meet CPL Wilbur “Jack” Myers, a World War II veteran who served as a gunner with the 692nd Tank Destroyer Battalion and participated in campaigns across Europe during the war.

On Memorial Day, we remember the courage, sacrifice, and legacy of those who served before us. It was a privilege to help honor the Greatest Generation through music and community outreach.

Homecoming moments make Navy Weeks even more meaningful. 🇺🇸🎺

Musician First Class Eric Sider, one of Navy Band Northeast’s trumpet instrumentalists, recently made a homecoming appearance during Harrisburg Navy Week with the Jack Tar Brass Band. Originally from Dillsburg, Pennsylvania, MU1 Sider was honored to represent the U.S. Navy through music while performing close to his hometown and reconnecting with the community that helped shape his journey.

From hometown stages to communities across the region, Navy musicians continue to build connections and share the Navy story through live performance.
