🌟 YOU ASKED, SO WE BROUGHT IT BACK! 🌟

Our S.T.E.A.M. Summer Camps in partnership with the Coweta Public Library System, were SO popular, we just had to bring them back before the end of the year in a new collaborative program called Parks & Pages! 🌳📗

Kids ages 8-17 will explore Science 🔬, Technology 📱, Engineering 👩‍🔬, Arts 🎨, and Mathematics ➗ (S.T.E.A.M.) concepts through engaging activities designed to spark creativity, curiosity, and discovery.

📆 3rd Friday of each month: October 16, November 20, and December 18
⏰ 4:30-5:30pm
📍 Hunter Complex - Classroom #2
👥 Ages 8-17, boys and girls
💰 $3 per session

This is a great snippet of Parks and Recreation history as part of Coweta’s Bicentennial celebration and their Throwback Thursday series! 🎨

Known today as The Young Artists of Newnan & Coweta County, art classes have continued to thrive at the Harriet Alexander Art House serving over 40 youth artists each month! 🎨♥️

It’s Throwback Thursday and we’re highlighting the people, places and moments that shaped Coweta County as part of our Bicentennial celebration.

Around 1979, students gathered for classes through the Coweta County Parks & Recreation's art program at the original Art House off Hospital Road. The wood-sided house served for years as a creative hub and meeting space for the Newnan-Coweta Art Association, supporting local artists and youth programs throughout the late 1900s.

The original structure is long gone but its legacy continues through the County’s ongoing commitment to arts education.

What a wonderful opening day, Senoia! ⚾️☀️

Saturday was a special day as we celebrated the Phase II ribbon cutting of Leroy H. Johnson Park, followed by a full day of baseball, fun, and community!

Coweta Parks & Recreation Director Jim Gay, District 1 Commissioner Jeff Fisher, and Senoia Area Athletic Association President Jesse Tanner shared remarks about the park’s history, the exciting new amenities, and what this expansion means for our growing community.

We were especially honored to have the Johnson family and Commissioner Fisher join us for the celebration as they helped cut the ribbon and threw out the honorary first pitch! ❤️⚾️

Phase II brings even more opportunities to play, gather, and enjoy the outdoors, including:

⚾️ Baseball Fields
🌭 Concession Stand
🥒 Pickleball Courts
🎾 Tennis Courts
☀️ Covered Pavilion
🚽 Restrooms

A big thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this exciting milestone! Thank you to the City Of Senoia for its ongoing support and partnership, and the Senoia Area Athletic Association for its commitment to youth sports which help our parks thrive.

We’re excited to share a new informational video highlighting the Phase II expansion at LeRoy Johnson Park! It includes four new fields, pickleball courts, tennis courts, a pavilion, a set of restrooms and a concession stand.

Hear directly from the Directors of the Parks & Recreation, Facilities Management and Road Department about how this SPLOST-funded project came together and what it means for the residents in Senoia and eastern Coweta County.

We also invite you to join us this Saturday, September 19 for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony as we unveil these new amenities to the community. Don’t miss out! There will be tours, a giveaway and more.

All Coweta County Parks & Recreation offices and gyms will be closed on Monday, September 7th, in observance of Labor Day.

Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8th.

Averaging over 2,500 laps (125 miles!!) each month, the Peachy Pacers Walking Club has been staying active and racking up the steps at Temple Avenue! 🍑👟

We’re incredibly proud of their commitment to staying active and making every step count. Keep up the great work! 🏆

🍑🔥 Interested in becoming a Peachy Pacer? Join us every Tuesday and Thursday from 8am-9am at the Temple Avenue Gym (39 Hospital Rd, Newnan, GA 30263). It is suitable for all fitness levels.
