The Newburgh Performing Arts Academy is proud to introduce Glenn Allen Sims as its next Vice President of Arts Education.

Following a thoughtful succession process, academy founder Kim L. Turner selected Glenn to lead NPAA into its next chapter, recognizing his extraordinary artistic achievements, leadership, and lifelong commitment to arts education.

Glenn Allen Sims enjoyed a distinguished 23-year career as a Principal Dancer with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, captivating audiences worldwide through his artistry and athleticism. A native of Long Branch, New Jersey, he began his training at the Academy of Dance Arts before attending The Ailey School’s Summer Intensive on scholarship and continuing his studies at The Juilliard School. Glenn has performed on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including the White House Dance Series and a special performance for the King of Morocco, and has appeared on national television, including Dancing with the Stars, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and So You Think You Can Dance. In 2004, he was inducted into the Long Branch High School Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame as its youngest recipient. A respected educator and arts administrator, Glenn is a master teacher, a certified Zena Rommett Floor-Barre® instructor, a certified Pilates Mat instructor, and has served in leadership roles with Ballet Hispánico and Steps on Broadway. Please join us in welcoming Glenn Allen Sims to the Newburgh Performing Arts Academy. We are excited for the future of NPAA under his leadership.

After 22 incredible years, I have officially retired as Founder & Vice President of Arts at the Newburgh Performing Arts Academy.

What began as a vision grew into a community, a family, and a legacy that has touched thousands of lives all through the power of the arts.

To every student, parent, staff member, volunteer, supporter, and friend—thank you for believing in our mission and allowing me to do work that I truly loved.

As I begin this new chapter, I do so with complete confidence in NPAA’s future. I am proud to pass the torch to Mr. Glenn Allen Sims, whose leadership experience, love for the arts and the foundation we have built make him the right person to lead the Academy into its next chapter.

One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is that true leadership isn’t measured by how long you stay, but by what you leave behind. My greatest joy is knowing that NPAA will continue to inspire and serve future generations.

With a grateful heart, thank you for an unforgettable 22 years. ❤️

🌟 Keep dancing this summer—or discover dance for the very first time! Designed for ages 7-18 and open to beginner through intermediate skill levels.

Join us for NPAA’s 6-session Summer Dance Boot Camp, where dancers will spend 3 hours each week training in four essential styles:

🌿 Contemporary

Whether you’re preparing for the upcoming dance season, looking to strengthen your technique, or simply curious about dance, this program offers something for everyone. Our experienced faculty will provide a fun, positive, and encouraging environment where dancers can learn, grow, and build confidence.
