Thank you to for setting the tone for the night, to the artists who shared their work and helped make the evening feel so alive, and to everyone who came out, showed love, had drinks, donated, and supported us — it truly meant so much. Kyle McIlhone is a producer with an actor’s instincts—sharp to the room, attuned to detail, and fixated on getting new work in front of a live audience. A proud graduate of the Neighborhood Playhouse, he brings the discipline of Meisner training into every rehearsal, production meeting, and late-night problem solving.

Originally from a small town near Montreal, QC, Kyle co-founded two independent theater companies before landing in New York’s Off-Broadway ecosystem. A member of Polaris North, his recent stage work includes The Airport and the Strange Package by Sean King, directed by William Roudebush at the Gene Frankel Theater.

As producer of The Keys, Kyle stands at the crossroads of story, space, and risk—quietly steering the piece from idea to impact, making sure this family’s one night onstage actually happens in the dark with an audience breathing it in.

Sean Welsh, a Cleveland native who made New York his home in 1998, has built a dynamic career across multiple literary forms. From 2003 to 2006, he served as co-publisher and co-editor of the acclaimed literary quarterly The Good Luck And All The Best, helping amplify emerging voices in contemporary fiction. His 2010 short-story collection, One From The Ice, published by Eclectic Press, Inc., earned a nomination for the prestigious PEN/Robert W. Bingham Fellowship Award, marking him as a writer to watch.

Welsh’s debut novel, Daylight Maybe, garnered an Elit Bronze Medal in 2019, further solidifying his reputation as a compelling storyteller. He has since expanded his craft into theatre with his first play, The Keys. He is currently at work on his second novel, continuing to explore new creative terrain with the same sharp insight and narrative drive that define his work.

Behind The Scenes with The Keys.

One brother is Wall Street polish: sharp, composed, and all ambition. The other brings Long Island heat: hot-tempered, grounded, and impossible to ignore. Together, they crack open the family tension at the center of this new play.

Keep following us for more BTS moments as we build toward our fundraiser at Common Mollies on April 22, 6–10 PM. Come for the drinks, stay for the drama, and help support the next step in bringing The Keys to the stage.
