The secret behind this sculpture wasn't technique—it was the story.

For this piece, I started with a simple story: Rusty is a well-loved dog waiting for his owner to return home. That narrative influenced everything—from the driveway design and placement of the leash and collar to the way the colors were blended
together.

In this video, I share how storytelling became a creative roadmap and why, after years of making art, every new project still feels like an experiment. Sometimes the story tells you exactly what the artwork needs.

So excited to finally share my sculpture “Rusty” as part of Barkin’ Around Saugerties! What started as a blank form slowly turned into this character through lots of paint, problem-solving, and patience.
