Artist-driven collaboration is not a tagline.
It is the foundation of how we work.

It means listening before building.
It means shaping strategy around the individual, not the industry.
It means creating space for thoughtful, long-term careers.

That same philosophy now extends into a new digital home.

A new way to explore our artists and approach.

We are thrilled to welcome to !✨

“Impressive coloratura soprano” (The New York Times) Elizabeth Sutphen has garnered praise for her sparkling voice and her ability to “soar deftly through stratospheric trills and arpeggios” (Financial Times). Praised as “exquisite” by The Guardian, Ms. Sutphen recently debuted with the Spoleto Festival as the Governess in The Turn of the Screw. This season, she joins Opera San Antonio as Rosina in their production of Il barbiere di Siviglia. Future seasons will see her making her house debut as Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos TBA.

Ms. Sutphen made multiple debuts in the 2023-24 season, which included performances at Arizona Opera as Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia, The Glimmerglass Festival as Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance and Aveline Mortimer and Elizabeth Cree. She also joined the roster of The Metropolitan Opera, covering Hilte in their production of Tannhäuser.

Elizabeth is a graduate of The Juilliard School (B.M. 2012, M.M. 2014) as well as a proud alumna of The Opera Theatre of Saint Louis (Gerdine Young Artist 2014, 2015/ Richard Gaddess Festival Artist 2016), The Internationale Meistersinger Akadamie (2015) and the Solti Accademia (2016). She has enjoyed successes on many competition stages including receiving a Career Development Grant from the Sullivan Foundation, 2nd Prize in the Gerda Lissner International Vocal Competition, an Encouragement Award from the George London Foundation, and 2nd Prize from the FAVA Grand Concours Competition. She was a Finalist in The Dallas Opera Competition, and a semi-finalist at Operalia in Lisbon, Portugal. She represented Oper Frankfurt in the prestigious Stella Maris Competition where she won Second Place, and was awarded the Novick Career Grant from the Juilliard School.

Please join us in welcoming to !⭐️

Described by Opera News as possessing a “seething bass-baritone,” Christian Zaremba brings a distinctive blend of vocal depth, physicality, and dramatic intelligence to the stage. Known for his “gracefully menacing” presence (KDHX) and “oaken bass” voice (KC Independent), he has earned equal praise for shaping each vocal line to illuminate the inner lives of his characters. He appeared last season as Mustafa in L’italiana in Algeri as part of San Silvestro a Lugano’s New Year’s Gala with the Orchestra della Svizzera italiana. This season, he appears in Meyerbeer’s Le prophète singing the role of Zacharie with both the Théâtre des Champs-Elysée and the Grand Théâtre de Genéve.

In the 2023-2024 season, Zaremba expanded his work across Europe with concert appearances in major venues and festivals. Season highlights include Verdi’s Requiem at KKL Luzern, Amor Fou at the Grafenegg Festival in Austria, Dona Nobis Pacem with Chœur Pro Arte, Messiah at the Six-Fours Festival, and a televised appearance at Musiques en Fête, broadcast live from the Roman amphitheater in Orange, France.

A dual French-American citizen and lifelong martial artist, Zaremba is the first performer in Metropolitan Opera history to ascend from stage combat captain and supernumerary to principal soloist. His stage presence—shaped by an early career in stunt work and martial arts—imbues his characters with both visceral credibility and emotional nuance. His long-standing relationship with the Metropolitan Opera bore fruit when he joined their roster as a singer, including various covers, multiple productions of Tosca as Angelotti, and Gianni Schicchi as Guccio.

A graduate of the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU, Mr. Zaremba’s degrees are in Sociology and Theatre. He is also the winner of The Sullivan Foundation’s 2016 Sullivan Award and a winner at the regional level of the Metropolitan Opera’s National Council Competition (now the Laffont Competition). He is an alumnus of the young artist program at Glimmerglass Festival (2014) and the Wolf Trap Filene program (2015 and 2016).

Valdes returns to Symphony San Jose for Vaughan Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem and Spanish River Concerts for “Broadway to Opera.” On the opera stage she returns to The Metropolitan Opera to cover Frida Image #1 in El Último Sueño de Frida y Diego.

An accomplished recitalist, Ms. Valdes has performed with Martin Katz, made her New York recital debut with NYFOS performing Compositora, a recital of female Latin American composers with Steven Blier and Michael Barrett, and attended the Steans Institute at the Ravinia Festival, performing in several concerts. An award-winner in the regional Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions, Ms. Valdes is also the winner of the top prize at the Corbett Opera Scholarship Competition at Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and the recipient of a Shoshana Foundation Grant.
