Introducing The Modern Artist Merch Strategy™.

Merch is more than a t-shirt on a table. It’s revenue, brand, fan connection, inventory, data, pricing, profitability, and a business that deserves strategic thinking.

That’s the idea behind The Modern Artist Merch Strategy™, a framework we’ve developed at Merch Cat around a simple cycle:

We’re starting where Merch Cat started: at the live show.

Hailing from San Antonio, Texas, Ariah Falls delivers heavy, atmospheric metalcore/deathcore with massive riffs, brutal vocals, and plenty of melody.

The band recently checked a major item off its bucket list by touring the Southwest and continues to build a devoted fanbase around its high-energy live shows. They also bring their creativity to the merch table, designing most of their merch in-house, including their fan-favorite “Resurrection” shirt.

Another Newport Folk Festival, and as expected, music fans showed up repping artist merch in full force. 💪🙌

This year, we stopped about a dozen fans and asked one simple question:

“What made you buy that piece of merch?”

The answers were all different, but a few themes kept coming up: supporting the artist, remembering a specific show, and simply loving the design.
