As I Iay out the pages in my pdf maker for my little book, my drawings are sometimes are too big for the page. I scan them at 400 dpi. And maybe it’s perfect that way.
Over the years... I was making solid money over in the land of advertising. I do miss it every day. And hope my industry returns. But my soul was lonely. Here are some more drawings for my purple book which is due the beginning of June.

Last year, I took about 4 months to work on my own personal poems. They weren’t woven out of words, but rather watercolors. I published 2 small little books that made my heart take flight. This work took me 2 decades to show up for. The Devil named resistance grasped me tightly, and not in a way that I liked. If not now, then when? My therapist said, “No dead-time for you, Ms. Devon.”
I am now working on my 3rd little book. It’s all made out of purples. I’ll show you bits and bobs as it percolates for the next few months. You can watch as it unfolds. It’s due the beginning of June.

In an effort to be as analog as I possibly can, I started using crow quill. To practice, I’ve been doing studies of all the people I love. Here’s a Toppi copy I made. Brian made me the etching look by taking plexi-glass and covering it with printmaking ink and doing a transfer.

The Lemon Tree. 10” x 14”. Pencil and watercolor on Stonehenge paper. I like the way the colors pool, and sit right on top of the paper, instead of soaking in.
