I attended a "Classic" Rock concert last night: STYX, REO Speedwagon and Loverboy. I'm always amazed at how these performers, especially now that the average age for these guys is about 65, can still sing SO WELL! It is a lesson for all vocalists!

A good friend and colleague, Michael Hendrick, posted this photo and allowed me to share it. Let's remember to breathe deeply every day, at least for part of the day!

I had an experience this month that inspired to do more: I gave a seminar in techniques of deep breathing to recovering Covid-19 patients . The type of deep, cleansing breathing we learn to become opera singers can aid in getting these patients to feel a better connection to their breath and lung capacity. Thank you to The Bronx Opera Company for asking me to participate!

We in the SC are so grateful for the intense work they’ve done bringing us all together, and kickstarting this unprecedented collective of soloist energy. Helping to make our Union strong for ALL!

03/24/2020

I'm busy connecting with colleagues through our union, The American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA). Since being elected to the AGMA Board Of Governors last May, I've helped bring together other soloists to discuss our unique needs and form The Soloist Coalition. We started social media feeds last week. Please follow:

I am honored to let you know that I have been elected to the AGMA (our union) Board of Governors as a representative from the NY area. I will do my best to represent all members of AGMA- dancers, choristers, directors, soloists. I particularly hope to bring the concerns of my fellow itinerant soloists to the table. Please let me hear from you!
