New season, new faces! 🎉 We’re thrilled to welcome two fantastic violinists to our NYPhil family: Jaeook Lee and Muyan Yang! 🤩 Can you spot them in the violin section? Come hear them live this season — we can’t wait to see you at our concerts!
Read a little about Jaeook and Muyan:
Born in Seoul and raised in NJ, Jaeook attended Juilliard pre-college (studying with former concertmaster, Glenn Dicterow and our current Associate Principal second, Lisa Kim 🤩) and vividly remembers coming to the NYPhil as a young kid and being completely awestruck. He is a graduate of Juilliard and NEC and started his orchestral career with the New York City Ballet Orchestra, right across the Lincoln Center Plaza! Fun fact: Jaeook’s favorite composer is Alfred Schnittke 🤗
Originally from Beijing, Muyan did her undergraduate studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music and just graduated with a master’s from the Colburn School this May. In her free time she loves being out in nature, especially hiking and camping in the mountains or by the ocean. But since moving to the Big Apple, she now loves exploring NYC! 🍎🏙️🚕
