Tonight, we said farewell to our beloved colleague and friend, Mindy Kaufman, as she performed her final concert with the Orchestra after an incredible 47-year career.

It has been a true privilege to make music alongside you, Mindy. Thank you for the countless memories, and the music you have given to this Orchestra.

Wishing you the very best in this next chapter. You will always be part of the Philharmonic family!

Congratulations to Michigan Alum Elim Chan (MM, DMA โ€™15) on her historic appointment as the next Music Director of San Francisco Symphony Orchestra!

Three U-M alumni in one NY Phil photo: trombonist David Finlayson (BM โ€™76), who took conducting with Professor Emeritus Elizabeth Green; bassist Isaac Trapkus (BM โ€™06), who played in Professor Kenneth Kieslerโ€™s Conducting Seminar; and Elim, who earned her masterโ€™s and doctorate in conducting under Professor Kiesler. Isaac and Elim first met back in 2008 at Professor Kieslerโ€™s Conductors Retreat at Medomak .
