HERE IS THE SYNOPSIS OF THE FILM STRAW FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T SEEN IT YET:

Straw is a psychological thriller that follows Janiyah, a single mother whose world crumbles in a single, catastrophic day. Struggling to care for her frequently ill daughter, Aria, Janiyah faces a series of escalating misfortunes. She is fired from her job, threatened with eviction, and her car is impounded after a run-in with a corrupt off-duty police officer.
Pushed to her absolute limit by a society that seems indifferent to her plight, Janiyah's desperate attempt to cash her paycheck spirals into a bank standoff. As police surround the building, a former Army negotiator, Raymond, tries to establish a rapport with her over the phone. Meanwhile, a bank teller secretly livestreams the situation, garnering public sympathy for Janiyah.
The film then reveals a shocking twist: Janiyah's mother calls and delivers the devastating news that Aria died the night before from a seizure. It becomes clear that Aria's presence throughout the day was a grief-induced hallucination, and many of the earlier events, like the call from Child Protective Services, never actually occurred. So…

I had to watch the movie STRAW again. Especially after some of y’all’s posts and because the ending had me a little perplexed. I also think it took a second take, for the REAL message to be highlighted.

By ALL accounts for ME, this was a good movie.

But, this movie is SO MUCH more than a struggling- single mother.

I don’t recall her complaining about “that.”

Processing grief was the REAL message.

Her daughter died, the night before. She went about her day(the next day), as if her daughter was still alive.

Notice all the interactions she had the next day; all of the nuances, how they all contributed to her state of affairs.

I kinda think the moral of the story is to simply BE KIND. You never know what a person is dealing with…even though my past and my story may be different than yours…we all have a story and a past.

There are a lot of folk on the edge. A kind word could be just what they are in need of.

My prayer is that whatever you start in faith will end with GRACE!
