STAFF SPOTLIGHT | Eleanor Kipping, Marketing Manager
Hi-ARTS Staff are artists — in everything they do! Check out what our very own Marketing Manager @elfelicia is up to.
Eleanor Kipping is curator of "When the Eye Speaks," a screening taking place at the Center for Performance Research this Thursday, July 24, 2025 featuring the work of Ronald Hall (A '16), Jack Hogan (A '19), Yasi Ghanbari (A '18), Zhiyuan Yang (A '17), Jordan Wong (A '22), Kearra Amaya Gopee (A '18), and Steven Cottingham (A '15), curated by Eleanor Kipping (A' 18).
"When the Eye Speaks" explores the use of moving image and the desktop essay as a means to provoke identity, place, gender, and the geopolitical implications of surveillance through the use of monologue, performance, object making, the Internet, and screen recording.
This screening is taking place as a part of Conference Call: Moving Image, a series featuring the moving image works nearly 30 Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture Alumni and curated by five members of the Skowhegan Alumni Alliance. I would love to see you there. Continue below to learn more and register.
Fun fact: Conference Call also has a screening taking place at Hi-ARTS. Curated by Jesus Benavente, on August 1! Tap that link in bio and RSVP to both!

⚠️ATTENTION ALL ARTISTS⚠️
🧑🏿🎨✨ Hi-ARTS is now accepting residency applications for the Fall 2024 – Spring 2025 season!! We offer Artists of the Global Majority a space to experiment, play, and focus on their art through our CRITICAL BREAKS and SKY LAB residencies.
✏️CRITICAL BREAKS is a residency program for Artists who are in a pivotal phase of developing new theater and/or performance work. The residency aims to provide artists with time and space to concentrate on a specific project and/or element of a project. This is an ideal for works that have already been started, and/or have perhaps received some institutional support, but are still in need of additional concentrated focus, funding, and space.
✏️SKY LAB is for artists who center the community at the root of creative development, research, and consideration. This may include relationship building, deep listening and discussion, experience design, community collaboration, storytelling, and other interdisciplinary methods and practices that take place alongside and in relation to an artist’s identified community.
🗓️ Application Deadline is Saturday, July 20, 2024, 11:59 pm EST.

Have you taken the time to ground yourself this spring? 🌸
