My work in progress of Chris Arsenault, founder of Happy Cat Sanctuary.
This is a sketch I drew of him and one of his beloved cats.
I'm currently working on this as a memorial portrait.
Chris tragically was killed trying to save his cats from the fire that tore through the sanctuary

Blueberry was drawn with Mars Lumograph and Prismacolor colored pencils on Bristol Vellum paper

This is a drawing in my sketchbook, plain old #2 HB Ticonderoga pencil.
I take my measurements and notes, do the drawing in my sketchbook.
The portrait will then be done with Staedler or Prismacolor on heavyweight, acid free paper

I use photos for reference. I carefully measure the features with a ruler, jot down notes and measurements.
