Here's a sneak peek of Madaari (The Monkey Master), coming to Rovaco Dance Festival 2026! Inspired by the imagery of Indian street performers who subjugate monkeys to stage patriarchal narratives, this work highlights our cultural and capitalist wiring to control and possess in intimate relationships. Featuring an original score by composer Saúl Guanipa, based on the popular song “Roz” by Ritviz & Nucleya.

Our dancers are Isabele Rosso, Karma Chuki, Laila Garrett, and Connor Hestwood.

Get excited for S*x Robot, an excerpt from K**A! Coming to the Rovaco Dance Festival 2026 stage, this dance explores contemporary notions of s*x and intimacy and dissects the complex relationship between casual s*x, power dynamics, s*xual addiction, consent, and abuse. Our choreographer is Rohan Bhargava, and our dancers are Devika Chandnani, Karma Chuki, and Isabele Rosso.

Next up is our second musical guest, Compass Trio: Galen Passen, James Labrosse, and Tripp Dudley! Renowned for using sitar, tabla, and guitar to render a new and dynamic sound, Compass Trio creates music that is equal parts tradition and original composition. Their voice is birthed from the musical seeds of the Gitano diaspora that historically connected the music of the Punjab in Northern India to Andalusia, Spain. Compass’s stylistic flexibility and musical dexterity are seeped in the rich cultural tapestries of NYC. Compass Trio will bring their original sound, infused with Hindustani raga, flamenco, jazz harmonies, and groove, to the festival.

Unveiling the Ghoonghat | Rovaco's newest work Ghoonghat, reimagines our current work-in-progress Baraat with a more abstract and avant-garde approach. At the heart of the piece is the dupatta, a long scarf traditionally worn by women in South-Asia. We are reclaiming the dupatta as a symbol of q***r intimacy and rebellion, reflecting on cultural oppression and conformity.

Our dancers are Nico Gonzales, Karma Chuki, Isabele Rosso, Laila Garrett, & Connor Hestwood.

Buy your tickets now at the link in bio to see a work-in-progress presentation of Ghoonghat at Rovaco Dance Festival 2026!
