I found this while packing the studio the other day. It is the 30th anniversary issue of Interview magazine from October 1999. David LaChapelle shot 30 celebrities in 30 days for this issues and I along with my amazing team printed every image he shot. Back then, pre-digital, all the color work was done by hand in the darkroom. .davis printed with me through thick and thin back then. (We made a special pink color burn for the Mary J Blige prints, we still to this day call that pink Mary J Blige Pink)💗💖💗💖
We printed out of a rental lab back called Latent Image but I had just signed a lease on my very 1st studio and the money I made on this job paid for my very 1st processor.
It was an insane amount of work! I love that David took photos of all of us that worked on the job for the issues! I had been printing for David for 4 or 5 years before this job. He was the person who convinced me (when I was 24) I had a gift for seeing color and that it would be my success in life. I am forever grateful for my years working with him.
He gave me the opportunity to build my studio and go on to print for so many contemporary amazing artists and print countless exhibitions and books for the last 25 years.
Over the last few weeks I have been finding photos of all my past peeps! I am posting one of Marietta and I from Interview magazine and one from my 1st studio holiday party with my OG family! .davis and These 4 people became (and still are) my life and family. They have all gone on to be amazing artists, writers, photographers and my I will post more pics soon!

Overdue studio update❤️ The summer has been hard. I have been waiting and waiting for our landlord to make the repairs to our space so we can get back to work. Long story short is I am still waiting but I am tried of waiting. We have shifted gears and will be moving the studio and expanding the vision and scope of what we do. I am very excited about the possibilities coming my way. I am working to make the studio a more creative, holistic space to work with all the artists I know, love and miss dearly along with the new ones coming my way. It’s going to be amazing! I will post more details as they come. Thanks for all of you checking in on me and the pets and sending me lots of love! This is going to be a lot of work to pull off but I know it will be worth it in every way! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
I know you all are looking for the pig update as well! The pigs 🐗🐗 are doing great in Long Island! They have living their best pig lives enjoying sprinklers and their own personal mud pond this summer! Omg, so cute! More soon and love ❤️

Last night was our final Digital Production class at ! These photos definitely show the vibe of my last 10 weeks with them fun, festive and all things color! ❤️💙🧡💛♥️💜💚🤎🤍🖤They are a hardworking bunch who have been an absolute pleasure to teach all thing color printing to! A big to my amazing TA! Without her I might not have made it through! I am so glad to now have her in my NYC photo family! Happy summer y’all and congratulations to all the ICP students who are finishing their programs! ⭐️

Pig and new member of the family! Now that Skylar and Pygmy are all healthy they are and lucky enough to spend sumner in Long Island. Last week I packed them up and drove them from to and it was a joyous drive, Fugu came along as well. He was so happy to see the pigs again! My sister is looking after them while we rebuild. It has been a week of settling them in. It’s been so nice to be able to see them several times a week. I had my breakfast with Skylar the other morning and it made me cry because I am so grateful she’s safe and sound!The other day when I was there I got to meet Shakira, my sisters new 🐴! She’s been saving up for a long time to get her own horse so it was cause for celebration! I made her a congratulations on the new pony cake complete with a my little pony on top! I am so for Anna, Kelly, Michelle, Patti and of course Susan at Ross mill farm. The last 2 months have been almost unbearable. Being at the farm every week was the sunshine in my life. They are all such strong and wonderful women who surround me and my pigs with all the love and care we needed to get where we are now! Thank you🐗🐗💕✨♥️ Also my amazing horse owning sister so much love ❤️ My niece Clara too, she has been sending me videos of my 3 pigs daily🥰 Now I can fully focus on our of ✨

ok this week, the demo folks took the rest of the ceiling out. The beams of the roof are all pretty charred so I think that’s what they are doing next? We have been doing a whole lot of waiting for information. We moved all the plants 🌱 into the garage so they could take down the ceiling in murphy’ s office. I have a lot of plants! You would never know we lost a bunch from smoke during the fire! I am not sure what this week has in store for me yet! I am going to move the pigs to Long Island today so that is making me very happy! More on that later♥️🐗♥️🐗!

I have had the absolute pleasure of teaching some of the amazing students color 🧡💙💜❤️🧡💛💚🖤🤍and all things printing over the winter and spring term. (our classes always end with singing❤️!) They have an exhibition up at the ICP Museum right now, don’t miss it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Shifting Selves features work by ICP's 2022 One-Year Certificate students in Creative Practices and Documentary Practice and Visual Journalism and is curated by Corinne Botz. The exhibition runs from Tuesday, May 10 through Sunday, May 15, 11AM–7PM. Admission during this time is free.

Today’s studio , I’ll let the photo’s speak for themselves. Trying to stay positive here so yes, it’s (?)! That last photo is of my sweet 🐱Udon pictured in one of his favorite place, any bag! He has made a full recovery and is looking forward to being a studio cat again soon! Going into the weekend I am filled with ! I am dreaming of color printing soon!💙💜♥️🧡❤️. Pygmy and Skylar last weekend was beautiful when I visited my ♥️pigs at . We had lots of ✨Skylar can walk again and has no limp. Dr Kristi sent me pictures from Skylar’s foot procedure. She is almost 100% back to her sassy self! I am so grateful that’s she’s all fixed up! Pygmy some how got his tail broken during all stress of the fire and had to have some of it amputated. The lower part of his tail was not getting any blood flow so it had to be done. That happened this week so I haven’t seen him yet. He was very uncomfortable because of the tail injury so having it taken off has made him more comfortable. I know it’s just a tail but it still broke my heart a bit. I look forward to seeing them on Sunday. We are looking into moving them to my sisters place in Long Island for the summer now they are all healthy and don’t need constant medical care! It would be so nice to have them closer. Again, my deepest gratitude to everyone at Dr Wilber’s and Dr Kristi for helping in the pigs recovery. I am also so thankful from everyone supporting me through this. I have not been myself so I truly appreciate all the love and practice from my community near and far! 🥰🥰🥰 thank you!

Mostly good updates✨ new gates are being installed as I type so good news! There has been a pigeon boarded up in the garage since the fire. Poor bird survived the smoke and heat only to be borders up for over 2 weeks. Luckily for him I fed him and made sure he had water so today was the big day, he made out free and healthy! So yes, good news for the pigeon! ( I do know not everyone loves pigeons but I do)! ✨I finally got to clean my desk off. 😕Unfortunately it was right under where the roof caved in so not good news there. I am trying my best to remember stuff is just stuff. It’s not always easy. I lost almost all of my art books in the hurricane so it felt like a double punch to loose them again in the fire damage. I am sure and and all the other amazing artists I know will resign my new copies ♥️❤️when I get them! We cleaned off the inkjet and it thankfully it works just fine! So definitely news there✨Thanks to Gerard at who hooked me up for printing the other day! It was good to be in a lab for the afternoon✨✨ I am back at teaching. Their spring break started the day of the fire. They had just been to the studio on a field trip so they all got to meet the pigs and make prints. When I saw them the other night there were so many hugs and a beautiful plant for me🌿💚! So good to be back in the classroom with them and my amazing TA 💙! Last but not least my sweet pig Skylar is finally on the mend💕🐗! My heart has been breaking every time I left them on Saturdays. Skylar hadn’t really gotten up much until this weekend so definitely amazing news! ✨✨✨✨ more pig videos soon! A brief ❤️‍🩹. It’s been a long week with the realities setting in. All the wet sheet rock has been taken out so no ceilings and less walls. We are waiting to see when the new roof, walls and ceilings will be put in. I realized I now only have wash and go furniture. The only upholstered piece of furniture I had that had survived hurricane Sandy didn’t survive this. 😕 I thought I had learned my lesson to “let go” of emotional attachments to stuff after the storm so I am doing my best again here and now. A big hug to everyone at the Carroll Garden Vet, , Dr McFadden helped get Udon healthy, he has only coughed once this week and is back to literally climbing the curtains🐱! Fugu 🐶doesn’t know it yet but he will be getting all new toys. I am going to see Skylar and Pygmy on Saturday so more on them soon🐗💜🐗. Again, so much love to everyone cheering me on, sending me love, sending all the gift boxes, and spreading the word about page she set up for us and my students and my family I have so much love my heart hurts! Updates and love ❤️ I have been having a tough time rolling through all the emotions of this but where I always end up is with gratitude ❤️ There is progress even though I am crying though out the day it is all progress. Things are getting cleaned, the walls and ceilings are getting the sheet rock ripped out and there are air purifiers everywhere. We have people coming in next week to start cleaning and repairing the equipment so more on that later. has started a go fund me page for the studio and as much as I am uncomfortable in asking I am floored by all the love and generosity supporting by studio and my animals. So much love to all of you who are spreading the word and supporting me. Late night update ❤️ I made chocolate chip cookies for the , our local fire house for saving/rescuing Skylar & Pygmy 🐗💕🐗 from the fire. They were very happy to hear they are doing ok and told me my pigs were famous now! I told them how forever grateful I was with or without fame! I cried. I had all 28 of my rugs picked up to be cleaned of the smoke and water damage then headed out to to see my pigs at . My gratitude to Susan, Anna and everyone at Ross Mill for taking good care of not just my pigs bit the 130 plus pet pigs at the farm looking for homes! Dr Wilber’s from Vet took a look at Pygmy’s cough and limp and Skylar’s back legs. Pygmy is much better and he’s up and about. Skylar seems to have a back injury. She will be on steroids and rest for a week then we will better access the extent of the injury. I am doing my best to stay super positive for her quick recovery. I brought her some raspberry newton’s and filled the with some CBD oil to cheer her up. ❤️❤️ Murphy has been getting all studio related things in order so we can keep printing in thanks to all my friends in the right places who are giving me lab space and access to printers and scanners so Pochron Studios can keep making beautiful prints! Some updates, I have been crying many tears of gratitude this morning , thank you, all of you who have been sending text, emails, messages and phone calls of love and support. Thank you and I am sending endless hugs in return ❤️ Udon🐱is coughing less and eating well. He will get meds on Monday so he doesn’t get pneumonia. I went the yesterday and spend the day with Skylar & Pygmy, the vet is seeing them on Monday,I will be there with them. Both of them have improved breathing, we going to check on their leg injuries and coughs. In terms of the studio, we are waiting for the electricity and water to be turned back on so we can determine next moves. It’s hard to go in there because I am reminded how much I love my studio and how close I can to loosing my critters.💔 Most of you who know me know I have gotten through many rough patches with past fires, hurricanes, recessions and the pandemic. Thanks to my amazing family, friends and awesome community I will work this out as well. More update soon, again thank you all, your love is getting me through ❤️❤️

Pygmy and Skylar are safe and recovering at in Pennsylvania. All my deepest gratitude and all my ❤️❤️ for the Redhook Firemen 🔥 FDNY ladder202/201 who rescued them from the fire yesterday. I am forever thankful, grateful and overwhelmed by their ❤️ of animals.Thank you everyone who has been reaching out with love and support. Another thank you for Anna at Ross Mill Farm for sending me photos of them through out the day of my 🐗🐗 while they are at the farm. It’s definitely helping me get through. One more ❤️thank you to who found Udon in the fire wreckage and got him home and bathed him🐱🧡. ❤️❤️to all my students Milo the tortoise is fine and recovering as well🐢

For the last few months I have been working with on her exhibition A Field Day For The Heat that opened this weekend at . The work is inspiring and the color is superb! ✨💜✨🤍Tanyth’s color palette is so magical, it’s an honor to print for her! ✨ I remember seeing one of her exhibitions in Chelsea many years ago and being blown away by her powerful portraits of women with some of the most beautiful prints with such a cool crisp palette. I had hoped to print for her 1 day. Luckily for me I do! Don’t miss her show, it’s up until February 12th at Transmitter!

I am very honored to have my work in a very special exhibition opening tonight. The Magic is in the Seeing exhibition honors Philip Perkis, a photographer, artist, teacher, and mentor. During more than 35 years as an educator, Perkis encouraged hundreds of art students to explore and expand their unique abilities. The Magic is in the Seeing presents a selection of Philip Perkis’ meditative and tonally gorgeous black and white images along with a curated showcase exploring the breadth and diversity of those whom Perkis inspired in the classroom.

Philip Perkis Influenced a generation of teachers, sharing his supportive and open-minded approach to artistic practice well beyond his own classroom. In New York City alone, Perkis’ students have taught in all the major college photography programs. His protégés, hailing from the U.S., Europe, Asia and Latin America, manifest a wide variety of artistic expression and professional success.
