This full moon was about letting go of an old habit of punishing myself. I missed it consciously and knew I would find the perfect set and setting to see it come up a day or two later. The second Festival of the Bear officially kicked off this year's summer camp. Building isn't just an act, it's a philosophy that attracts like minded people who want to make this world a better place. Building with wood, building communities, building relationships and connections, we're here to say it simply: it's possible. It takes a village, deep focus and a big effort - but it's possible.

Leading up to photographing the full moon this time around was noticeably different for me. I wasn't even sure when exactly the full moon will appear.
As I focused on remembering that what I want is to have 12 images of the full moon come January 27th.
The moment it settled in, time unraveled in a way that only now I realize how orchestrated everything if we choose is to be so.

I had a one hour window because of a training cancellation, and all I wanted to do is notice that it is exactly what I asked for.
I prepped the camera, tripod and x2 extender.

It took some time for the moon to climb up behind the buildings. At first I could see it peeking between the balconies (image 2). As it climbed up and played around with some human-earthly signs to connect the space between earth and the moon.

Part I / III

was created by after years of soul searching and spiritual honing in some of the most unordinary stories I was fortunate to hear.

From a science of Medicine student all the way to practicing Tai Chi on top of a mountain, Nitay let me in the sacred room of drums and drummers, where deep mental practices take place.

Sometimes a successful venture seems effortless. But when reminded that the venture originates from a specific mind and a specific way of turning the vision into life, it becomes imperative to open your ears and eyes and become a student.

In Part I Nitay shares the way in which his seed of curiosity began sending out roots into the ground of traditional Japanese/Taiwanese drumming. In Parts II & III we'll see how the seed grew a stem, leaves and eventually grew into a beautiful strong, young tree yielding fruit.

PART II/III

Upon arriving at Taiwan, the journey of self discovery was not an easy one for . Meeting various breaking points along the way, considering the worth of the journey and the self.

This dedication paved Nitay's path to meeting who would become his life partner - . Together with her sail directing him in the right direction, more layers were added to the story.

It's become clear that the path of the warrior requires assistance and direction from teachers of all kinds.

Eventually, as you'll see in part III, is about the community, about the group and the bond. Precision and dedication done together create a stronger reality.
