This week, the A*O presented 'Afrocubanismo: African Music and Modernity in Cuba,' curated by percussionist-composer Javier Diaz. The program explored the rich musical history of Cuba through new arrangements and the world premiere of a new piece by Diaz titled 'Prayer At The Crossroad.'
The A*O returns to Bryant Park on May 18 & 19 with two more free concerts featuring our jazz ensemble, performing a selection of Louis Armstrong's lesser-recorded works in celebration of the legendary trumpeter's 125th birthday. More info: https://bit.ly/3Pw4bX0
