January 20, 2002: "The U.S. government calls the prisoners "unlawful combatants" or "detainees" rather than prisoners of war, a designation that would invoke rights under the Geneva Conventions. Washington insists the captives are being treated humanely.

George Ferencz directed the first Reading of The Golf Wars at La MaMa, ETC https://www.cinemavii.com/projects/thegolfwarsLaMama.htm

On Saturday, November 6 at 7pm, there will be a memorial for the life and work of George Ferencz in the Ellen Stewart Theatre (66 East 4th St).

Doors to the lobby will be open at 6:15pm for viewing of photographs, press, and memorabilia.

Conversation and drinks will follow at Phoebe’s (359 Bowery) with a cash bar.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Planned Parenthood in George’s name.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, guests will need to show proof of vaccination, ID, and wear masks.
