KUNSTRAUM is happy to welcome new member, Bahman Sharifi (Bahman Sharifi), to our community.
Bahman is drawn to stories of survivalโto the quiet, persistent struggle of individuals and communities trying to remain upright, to hold their balance, to stay on their path, and simply to be part of the future.
At the center of his work is the fragile act of standing. It seems simple, almost instinctive, yet it can be unsettled by the smallest external force or the most subtle movement from within. Balance may endure for centuries, becoming so familiar that it appears permanent, only to be fractured in an instant by an unexpected shift.
For more than thirty years, Bahman has drawn, with a particular fascination for portraits, caricatures, and the human figure. More recently, he has begun exploring acrylic and watercolor, allowing painting to become a space for experimentation with color, form, movement, and composition. Without formal training in art, his learning unfolds through observation, intuition, trial, and discovery.
Far removed from his academic and professional life in data science and advertising, this practice offers him another way of thinking and seeing. Here, there are no formulas to optimize and no fixed answers to reach. There is only the pleasureโand the privilegeโof experimenting with forms and colors, of searching for balance while knowing that balance is always fragile.
