Tomorrow is opening night for “A Doll’s House, Part Two”! In the meantime we’re happy to introduce you to our director, Craig Stoebling!
Craig has been doing theatre in one form or another for the past 40+ years both in NYC and in New Mexico. He began in the late 1970's appearing with theatre companies past and present including S.I. Shakespearean Theatre, S.I. Civic Theatre, Looking Glass Players, Sea View Playwright's Theatre and Harbor Lights Theatre Company. From 1989 - 2003, Craig served as Artistic Director for the Staten Island Shakespearean Theatre. He has been a teacher with both the NYC Department of Education and the New Mexico Department of Education teaching high school theatre at Port Richmond HS, The Public Academy of Performing Arts in Albuquerque and currently at New Dorp HS. His many credits as an actor include Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike (Vanya), The Night Of The Iguana (Shannon), M. Butterfly (Gallimard), The Odd Couple (Oscar), The Skin of Our Teeth (Mr. Antrobus), Glengarry Glen Ross (Aaronow), Wait Until Dark (Roat), The Prisoner Of Second Avenue (Mel), What The Butler Saw (Dr. Prentice/Dr. Rance), Angels In America, Part I Millennium Approaches (Roy Cohn), Proof (Robert), God Of Carnage (Allan), How I Learned To Drive (Uncle Peck), One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest (Harding) and most recently, as Andrew in one of the three casts of Love Letters, Stage Door Players Rep's premiere production in June of this year. As a Director, he has directed over 150 productions in regional, community and high school theatre including recent Staten Island productions of The Normal Heart, Bent, Time Stands Still, Other Desert Cities, Rabbit Hole, Mothers and Sons, All My Sons and The Laramie Project. In the past two years, Craig has also been a part of the Miss America Organization as both a judge and talent coach for various local NY pageants. He is looking forward to the development and expansion of the Stage Door Players.
