Absurdism is a tricky genre: tricky to write and tricky to perform. That’s what makes Edward Einhorn‘s absurdist science fiction drama Alma Baya so impressive: it’s nearly perfect. Two women named Alma and Baya live inside a pod on an air-less planet. Operating the pod by means of their multi-...

WOW!!!! Our heartfelt thanks to everyone that attended The Big Give. While The Big Give event has always been our favorite night of the year, this one was extra special. It was such a joy and relief to see so many wonderful friends in person and meet some of you for the first time! We are also thrilled that we could have the virtual option so that everyone could feel comfortable attending. For those that joined us online, we’re so sorry about the zoom room capacity issue at first and audio issue at the beginning of the program. We’re grateful for your patience as we worked it out and hope it was smooth sailing for the rest of the night. This hybrid thing is no joke. Below is a list of the amazing Artist & Leadership Pay Grant and Venue Grant recipients. Give them a follow on Facebook! And please keep sharing your photos from the evening. "Nothing yet completely answers the question I asked myself that first day, while I was watching Daniel Kahn in Berlin. How does one find the communal experience that live theatre brings? Perhaps that is simply not possible, not yet at least. We are all at the beginning of something in virtual space, and beginnings are hard. But they are also exciting." Check out this great article on virtual theatre on HowlRound Theatre Commons by Edward Einhorn, who is the Artistic Director of AJT member company Untitled Theater Company No. 61. https://howlround.com/finding-live-audience-virtual-theatre?fbclid=IwAR02affiSHJ2PbRGAelbUxN1SnOta6DrfkRBW4Yjc2AwYaxLS4SB_TEvDLE

In honor of Yom HaShoah Untitled Theater Company No. 61 is sharing an excerpt of their NY production of "Cabaret in Captivity." Cabaret in Captivity is made from Songs and sketches written in Terezín/Theresienstad, from Lisa Peschel's anthology Performing Captivity, Performing Escape and other sources. The work was assembled and directed by Edward Einhorn and Jenny Lee Mitchell. The clip above is the song "When The Rain Comes Down", sung by Jenny Lee Mitchell, Alyson Leigh Rosenfeld, and Katerina Vizina (piano and arrangement by Maria Dessena). Below is the full cabaret from England. This will officially be launched on our page at 2pm on Monday, and it will stay available until Monday April 27 http://www.untitledtheater.com/
