This past Sunday, Staten Island Talent () was truly honored to be invited by John Kilcullen and the Preservation League of Staten Island () to receive the "Business Beautiful" Award on behalf of Edgewater Hall ()
The recognition was presented in appreciation of our volunteer efforts, community programming, and public events produced at Edgewater Hall over the past 6+ months throughout the holiday season and beyond, all centered around reopening the doors of this historic 150-year-old building to the community in an effort to help preserve its legacy and continued presence on Bay Street since 1876.
The ceremony itself was held at the historic Reformed Church on Staten Island, a Staten Island landmark, making the setting especially meaningful for an afternoon dedicated to preservation, restoration, and community history.
The event recognized more than a dozen homes, buildings, restoration projects, and preservation efforts across Staten Island, highlighting the incredible work being done throughout the borough to protect and celebrate our architectural and cultural history. The afternoon concluded with an insightful presentation from Eileen of the Olmsted-Beil House reflecting on preservation efforts and the importance of maintaining these historic spaces for future generations.
For those unfamiliar, the Preservation League of Staten Island has spent decades advocating for the protection, restoration, and appreciation of historic sites throughout the borough. Their work plays a major role in preserving Staten Island’s identity, history, and sense of place for generations to come.
We’re incredibly grateful to be recognized alongside so many passionate individuals and organizations doing meaningful work throughout the community.
Thank you again to the Preservation League of Staten Island, John Kilcullen, and everyone involved in making the afternoon so special.
