KIDS OF THE ARTS (KOTA) is a New York City–based nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering artists through high-quality arts education and performance opportunities. Kids of the Arts (KOTA) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization founded by Laura Luc, that is dedicated to creating innovative entertainment for audiences of all ages. KOTA strives to inspire children & teens to follow their passion

, and make a positive impact on the world by raising proceeds and awareness for charities through each of our productions. Since the company's founding in 2001, KOTA has produced shows Off-Broadway and Regionally, along with workshops and benefit productions in New York City, New Jersey and Los Angeles.

Seating is General Admission ($65, which includes the $8 service fee) with no assigned seats. Every seat in the theatre has a great view of the stage!

MATILDA is recommended for ages 4+. All patrons, regardless of age, must have their own ticket.

KOTA’s Making a Musical: Matilda Edition premieres tonight, May 24th at 6pm EST 🌟

We had the best time working with these talented young actors over this six-week virtual class, which focused on character development, scene study, confidence and more.

Each actor recorded their performance from home using the space, technology, and materials available to them. This showcase is not about perfection; it’s about giving our students a fun and creative way to come together, perform, share their work, and celebrate all they’ve learned.

✨ CAST ANNOUNCEMENT ✨
We’re thrilled to announce Iris Davies as the beloved Miss Honey 📚

Iris has been part of the KOTA family since 2014, appearing as Annie in Annie Warbucks at Signature Theatre, Helen Burns in Jane Eyre virtually, and in every Lyrics for Life in NYC. In recent years, she’s continued to share her talents with KOTA both backstage and in benefit cabarets.

She made her professional debut in the Broadway National Tour of The Sound of Music and is an accomplished singer-songwriter and recording artist.

KOTA Productions is seeking Interns for our NYC mainstage production of Matilda!

Interns will gain hands-on experience working on a mainstage production in an Off-Broadway venue.

Opportunities are available in stage management, tech, lighting, scenic, sound, front of house, child guardian support, assistant directing/choreography, and more.

Dates: July 8–29 on Zoom + July 30–August 9 in NYC
Ages: 18+

Opened a few additional spots in our ACTING FOR THE CAMERA virtual class, starting this Sunday 🎬

DATES: FEB 8, 15, 22, MARCH 1 & 8 - 5 WEEKS
SUNDAY @ 6:30-7:30 PM EST (60 MIN)
PROGRAM TUITION: $350

KOTA’s Acting for the Camera class focuses on the skills needed to perform confidently and authentically on camera. Each week, actors will work on scene study, audition technique, and on-camera skills using film and television material. Students will learn how to adjust their performances for the camera, connect truthfully with scene partners, and make strong, specific choices.

Addie is currently playing Amaryllis on the National Tour of The Music Man! 🎺

This is Addie’s 2nd National Tour, after playing Kate in Annie. We have worked with Addie over the last six years, both virtually and in-person. She has played Jennifer in KOTA’s U.S. Premiere of A Knight at the Museum, Molly in Annie and was recently in Broadway Kids NYC ✨
