Meet Ed Woodham, the founder of Art in Odd Places!✨

Ed Woodham is an elder Southern q***r conceptual social-absurdist drifting through New York’s civic weather with humor, subterfuge, and a pocket full of ideas. For Art in Odd Places 2026: UTOPIAS, he’s looking forward to tender disruptions for strangers, lovers, and the purely curious. Enjoys long walks on the beach, poetry, and whipped cream – not necessarily in that order. Currently seeking beauty, mischief, and possibilities – preferably under improbable circumstances.

Conozcan al fundador de Art in Odd Places, Ed Woodham! ✨

Meet the Co-Curators of AiOP 2026: 𝘜𝘛𝘖𝘗𝘐𝘈𝘚

They are both so excited to be curating the 21st edition of the festival. Arantxa is imagining the systems and spaces we long to inhabit—and practicing how to build them, even temporarily, as a way of rehearsing new possibilities and Pancho is thinking about the multiple ways of understanding the city and, above all, idealizing a future to come and the world we dream of.

The Open Call is still open, closing on April 21 at 11:59 PM EST✨

The founder of Art in Odd Places .woodham just had an Op-Ed published in Hyperallergic where he explores Social Malpractice, which “operates partly as a speculative think tank exploring a hypothetical future in which independent cultural expression is tightly regulated.”
