We are happy to announce that ✨MELISSA RIKER✨ will be returning as our Creative Immersion Mentor for our 2026 United Flamenco Residency.

Artistic Director of Kinesis Project Dance Theatre and a fierce advocate for artists across disciplines, Melissa brings decades of experience in performance and choreography into her mentorship. During the residency, Melissa will be working closely with our Creative Artists to offer guidance, insight, and reflective support throughout the creative process.

Meet our Summer 2026 Creative Immersion Artist ✨SOPHIA MINTZ✨

Sophia is an NYC-based dancer, choreographer, and teaching artist who specializes in flamenco and Spanish dance. During her weeklong residency, Sophia will be developing her evening-length work, “Seguiriyas: a través de la oscuridad / Through the Dark” which explores the seguiriya palo of flamenco through the metaphor of the phases of the moon.

"Using the monthly journey of the moon as a symbol of the feminine, from the mundane lives of everyday women to the inspiration of the divine feminine and ancient goddesses that reappear in similar forms the world over, this piece will serve as a reminder of the natural processes of life, from seedling to full flower and back to dust, the constantly repeating creative cycle of life and death." 🌙
