A live, generative virtual writing workshop series led by Peggy Robles Alvarado.

Four fast-paced sessions designed to help writers at any level show up, write, and leave with new pages. Each session stands alone. Join one or all four. No recordings. We meet live and we write.

In difficult times, we must write. Writing is witness, resistance, and a way to stay rooted. This is a low risk, supportive space for reflection, creative action, and communal healing.

In collaboration with Word Up Bookshop join us to welcome poet and magic maker Peggy Robles-Alvarado for the celebration of her latest collection, Burn Me Back (Four Way Books). Joined by Dr. Melissa Castillo-Garsow, Caridad De La Luz (La Bruja), and Massiel Alfonso, this event explores Latina narrative, family lore, and the power of poetry to transform loss into rebirth.

In Burn Me Back, Robles-Alvarado writes at the crossroads of Puerto Rican and Dominican diasporas, blending Spanglish, memory, and ancestral storytelling. Her poems honor immigrant resilience, working-class wisdom, and the language of survival — where “a fire escape is also a terrace.” With fire and tenderness, she reimagines belonging, archives family histories, and redefines what it means to rise from ashes.
