New year, new growth.

I got a new Glow EZ Lock 60” umbrella softbox, and a new FJ80 speedlight, courtesy of Westcott Lightning.

The host/client functionality (I personally like those terms MUCH better) makes it an exciting addition for any one looking to invest in the already impressive line-up offered my Westcott Lighting. In Client mode, the FJ80 (the “80” represents its 80W power output) can stand in place of the FJ-X2M wireless transmitter to communicate to other FJ Wireless Strobes. In Host mode, the FJ80 can be controlled by the Westcott transmitter. There’s also the Speedlight mode that lets you shoot traditionally with an on-camera experience.

I partnered this lighting setup with the Westcott Eyelighter 2 to lift the shadows underneath the neck & eyes, and enhance the catchlight effect in the eyes.

I like it.
