the the war that matters most right now is the war against me-me-me. The war against our ability to imagine that another being is worthy of less life or love than me. Or inability to imagine/feel the gun in their own mouth. We have all done it. Other wars are hidden in this one... The war is the war against an imagination stuck on me-me-me and self-help. The war lives here, in the place that separates me form another person.

All this said, please reconsider the self-help books - for the health of all of us… Please consider communal-health reading, communal-health actions, communal-health investments and habits… and I can guarantee, that as our health improves, our wealth improves, our peace, liberation and prosperity improves, so will yours.

Our national literacy and youth engagement campaign with Christopher Rivas has officially started with our first drop of 333 Brown Enough books at Inglewood High School! With the support from our communities and an amazing partnership with LAvsHATE, we will be providing 3 LA High Schools with: A Day of Empowerment, 1,000 new copies of Brown Enough, The Brown Enough reflection curriculum, access to a new campus Book Club, and access to mentorship.
