Game Play Live presents: Instant RPG Sunday, August 30th at 7pm!

Seasoned D&D, Actual Play, and improv performers R. Alex Murray, Cassidy Sledge, Conner Marx, and Chris Simpson want to play a game...and they need your help to make it! Based off of “Build Your Own RPG” by Andrew J Young, Instant RPG uses the creativity of the cast and audience to write, play, and even illustrate a unique Role Playing Game every show. The cast will then play that game with either the help or hinderance of the audience, and after the show everything you help to create will be available to bring home.

The RAT NYC is thrilled to present the world premiere of Black Graffiti: A Dock Ellis Story, written by Andrew Sanford, September 11-13!

Dock Ellis was a larger-than-life baseball player whose career spanned the 1970s. When a manager on the Texas Rangers insisted that players on the team no longer drink at hotel bars while on the road, Dock fought it tooth and nail. This fictional retelling of Dock’s struggle finds him confronting then-Rangers owner Brad Corbett over the rule, demanding it be dropped. Corbett agrees on one condition: Dock tells him the true story of his legendary no-hitter, which was not public at the time. What follows is a tense and hilarious exchange that tackles race, representation, alcoholism, and that fateful story that would go on to define Dock’s life and career (whether he wanted it to or not).

Featuring Kade Clarks & Rory Scholl. Directed by Jen Sandella. Stage Managed by Isabelle Deveaux.
