Jay is a creative poet who is always trying to pull different emotions out of listeners. He uses his poetry to help others along their way; whether dealing with the deepest of pain or the joys from above, Jay’s creativity will help you find that needed peace and inspire you to be the best version of yourself.
He started writing when he was 13 years old, when he was faced with one of his toughest life challenges:his only brother, at the age of 17, was sent to prison. To deal with the pain of missing him, Jay connected with his brother through his brother’s rhyme book. Seeing how simple, heart-felt words helped him get through the pain, Jay was inspired to open up his heart and find his strength through his own creative words, and embarked on a journey to use his words to also help others see that there is happiness after the pain, sunshine on the other side of the mountain and a solid rock under your feet.
He is a published Poet who has performed all over the country. One of his most popular art pieces is his non-fiction poem called Jenny, which was inspired by the rising statistic of domestic violence in the world that he speaks out against.
