TONITE! Rocking with at ! We are going to be hitting same amazing and obscure classics from the 30s in some unusual keys so I’m excited to meet the challenges and enjoy the sounds! Just had the pleasure of meeting Dolly and definitely think she has a serious future in the field. From France, she has an interesting affinity for the Blues and picks the most beautiful but obscure pieces to perform. Also a wild background in the world of French Circus. Gonna be fun. 'Within the warm walls of Williamsburg Music Center, one of Brooklyn's last surviving Black-owned jazz venues, Melanie Charles takes NPR Music on a journey that embodies the soul of jazz: exploration. A Brooklynite proud of her rich Haitian heritage, Charles is conscious of the giant shoulders upon which she stands and takes steps to both honor and advance this music. Behind her, smiling pictures of her guardian angels, Mary Lou Williams and Billie Holiday, encourage Charles while she and her musicians blend the mystique of Haitian folk music with the sorrowful optimism of negro spirituals and the free space for elevation that jazz improvisation allows.'

Bright Moments! Wow what a beautiful day of music and community! I haven’t had one like this for minute. I performed at Small festival in Stanten island with percussionist Supreme
Leopoldo F. Fleming’s aggression! The people were so warm & receptive that to me it’s was kinda like 966 Fulton Community Center Sisters Place & The Brownstone all wrapped up in one. Then I off to and another amazing hit with Jazz Drummer Legend “Winard Harper”! We also hit last night at the Williamsburg Music Center!
Tonight we were at Moore’s Place in Jersey City NJ where Winard is at every week passing on the torch of this music like Betty Carter and do many others have done for him! Checkout out all these wonderful photos!
