People usually see the finished painting, but so much of the work happens in these quiet moments. Cleaning brushes, stepping back, looking again, knowing when to stop.
And sometimes even the cleanup feels like part of the process.

It’s from the Italian sgraffiare meaning “to scratch”) is a technique in art painting, pottery, and mural decoration where the top layer of paint, plaster, or slip is scratched away to reveal a contrasting color or material beneath.

I’ve been using this in different ways within my latest collections and I’m excited to see where it takes me 😊

A Fragile Moment fine print for a curated space.

This piece holds that quiet second before everything could change. The vase feels almost too small for what it carries, like at any moment it could tip, spill, and send the whole room into havoc. But for now, it is still. For now, there is peace.

That tension is what I love most about it. It feels beautiful, but not simple. Calm, but not empty. Suspenseful, but soft.

For the collector who chooses pieces with feeling. For someone who cares deeply about their space and wants the art in it to say something.

Sometimes the smallest details leave the biggest mark.

I’ve always loved the quiet part of the process. The tiny lines, the soft shifts in color, the little decisions that almost disappear unless you really look. (Like today in the studio using the Q-tip. It does almost nothing yet does so much…)

But I think those are the moments that can change everything.

In painting, and in life, the smallest touches often become the ones that matter most. ✨
