Tacoma Light Trail is coming! Our New Year's Eve Kick Off event is happening and the Trail is being built right now! Come celebrate with us on December 31 at Tollefson Plaza in Downtown Tacoma 5:30 - 9:30pm! There will be performances, interactive light art, food trucks and more! It's Free!

February 2, 2024 Mishap Magic I: A Clowning Crash Course (1 day intensive)
This Clown Workshop is not just a class; it's a carnival of self-discovery, wonder and unscripted hilarity. Michelle will guide participants through games and exercises that will unleash your unique clown, ignite your impulse to revel in the delight of being present, expressing the full spectrum of emotions, and finding joy in the simplest of actions. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned performer, this clowning crash course is designed to enhance your ability to connect with your audience, lean into celebrating both spectacular triumphs and endearing debacles and embrace the unknown with courage and creativity. We will laugh until we fall over and flop in the joy that comes from embracing our own absurdity.

February 3 and 4, 2024 Mishap Magic II: Clowning in the Face of Chaos (2 day intensive)
Get ready to accept your own ridiculousness with open arms. Through laughter-filled exercises, games and prompts, we'll turn moments of perceived foolishness into gems of comedic gold, creating an atmosphere where absurdity is not just accepted but celebrated. In this workshop every mishap is a chance to shine, and every triumph is an opportunity for uproarious applause. Let’s partner up, follow the laughter, explore status, builds, right & wrong, conflict madness, slow burns, and wild chases that turn into a honey dip of bird slaps and all types of relational bliss. (This intensive is designed to challenge seasoned performers)

Tacoma Light Trail Performances will move to Tacoma Art Museum covered parking lot this weekend.

January 6th and 7th from 6pm - 8pm

NEW EVENT VENUE!! 🌟We're getting out of the rain and lighting up the Tacoma Art Museum parking lot for the live events Friday-Saturday nights! (Jan 6-7) ✨✨
From 6-8pm come find us at 1701 Pacific Ave (entry off Hood St). Limited parking onsite; please park near Pacific and walk down if you can.✨
Then get dry and cozy and watch our amazing performers: Asia Pacific Cultural Center dance, Tacomarama brass band, Tacoma Dance Studio, Anjali Silva Latin band, Tacoma Fuji Taiko, Puget Sound Revels, TUPAC African drummers, roaming unicyclist and more.🪘💃
PLUS: Amazing interactive light art from Marcell Marias, Permaculture Lifestyle Institute and Design Nerds. 💚

I've spent the last two years leading clown workshops all over the country and now I've landed back in my hometown with a new clown workshop. (Okay, lets get real I was in my basement broadcasting through Zoom! But the participants were from all over the country) LOL!

It’s an introduction to the art of Clown with me, Michelle Matlock! Actors, singers, dancers, musicians, electricians..everyone is welcome to join The Clown Hub.

You, bring your life experience, what you have learned from your family, friends, relationships and culture. As the host of this “Hub” my job is to be curious about you and to cultivate what you already know about clowning. You may not be aware of it yet, but believe me, you already know so much!
