Musical theater vocal coaching, voice study, scene study, monologues, improv teams. I've been lucky enough to sing and act (and be funny) professionally for over 25 years. In 2008, I relocated from New York City to Raleigh, NC. My resume is extremely varied: Broadway, regional theater, improv and sketch comedy in NYC and Amsterdam, TV, Symphony concerts, and solo shows. I've taught improv at Camp Broadway, Broadway Theatre Project, the Yale School Drama, the Wharton School of Business, and the North Carolina Theatre Conservatory(NCTC). I also currently teach Triple Threat Plus at NCTC, coaching musical theater, monologues, and audition technique. My musical theater coaching style comes straight from Oscar Kosarin, with whom I was lucky enough to study at the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music. I've always maintained my improv skills alongside my "scripted acting" -- because I believe with all my heart that the best improv acting seems scripted, and the best "acting" acting seems like it's gotta be improvised. I truly love teaching. I love seeing the fear melt away and the excitement come through. I love to see the faces of my students when they get a real laugh or emotional reaction in a scene or a song. I want you to feel excited about auditioning instead of afraid. I want you to always get your laugh. If you're hearing crickets when you should be hearing laughs, I can help. I want you to hit your note. I want you to come out of an audition without that, "If only I'd done this..." Acting is a business, there's no getting around that, but if you're not having fun doing it, I can help that.
