Kayla’s words: “These are themes I’ve thought about for awhile: being othered, opposition or accommodating always, imagining something different for yourself, making space to see you, making space to exist, combining forms, and projecting your vision. What is it to create and make the vision despite it not existing before, despite what others think or expect, creating in new ways, and also not always knowing how to get there. How do we disrupt power systems that work against us, how can we be empowered- BIPOC, women identifying, and other marginalized communities? Especially when our access and resources are limited?
How can you be magical, radical, disruptive and wild beings that can stand in your vision?”
