So calming 😌 Love the combination of viola and harp!

This is a gorgeous renaissance lute song by John Dowland, “If My Complaints Could Passions Move”, which is quoted at the end of Britten’s Lachrymae. Interestingly, the Dowland was composed in 1597 after a trip to Florence, and the viola I’m playing here is the 1619 Medici Amati, commissioned by the prominent Florentine family. Maybe Dowland heard instruments just like this one! 🎻🇮🇹

Also Bridget is a star for playing this on the harp 🤩

2025 is a wrap! 🎊

Reminiscing on a rewarding year, full of discovery and also its fair share of challenges. Feeling grateful for the musical role models who inspire me, and for the privilege of being able to share my passion. I’m energized by the incredible people in my sphere who transmit kindness and grace to the world, and my heart is full of appreciation for my friends and loved ones. ❤️ Let’s make 2026 the most generously spirited year yet!
