I met this little fella at a thrift store in Kingston, NY and he's been hanging out with me when I paint ever since. He doesn't talk much but he's good company.

Waking up at 6 am to gear up for catching that morning light to paint once the warm weather hits. It's still cold out, though yesterday was like spring, but I feel it coming just around the corner. Meanwhile, here is a photo of my beloved Brust Park that I took just after our most recent snowfall.

Close to done on this one. Just in time to start teaching this semester at NJCU. Looking forward to meeting my new students! Seasons are turning and I've enjoyed the challenge of capturing the rapidly shifting light on this painting.

Kinda obsessed with waterlilies right now. Looking at how other artists handle the same subject. These are from .huang, painted from reference photos he took in Monet's garden. What I wouldn't give to see that some day! Love his thick paint and color experimentation. Which one is you're favorite? @ Monet's Garden, Giverny, France

Different time of day, but I finally got out to paint this peaceful spot in Van Cortlandt Park. Raw umber sketch on a Burnt Sienna ground on gessoed panel. Life is full of questions. This is my answer. @ Van Cortlandt Park

What's on your easel? Swipe left to see what's on mine! I started this little 5 x 7 landscape while with a great group of artists on event a couple of weeks ago. It's just one of their amazing surfaces to paint on, gessoed linen on a composite aluminum core. I can't wait to take their panels out into the field now that it's painting weather! I'll be at their next event tomorrow night at 6 pm EST, painting with artist amabassador, . Pinch me, is this real? Stop by and say hi! See the IG for details.
