🇺🇸✨ Breno Maia is our Institutional Relations Officer, responsible for strengthening BLS's relationships with institutions, partners, and the broader legal community throughout the 2026-2027 academic year.

Breno is a Brazilian lawyer from Belém, Pará, with over ten years of experience practicing in São Paulo across technology, IP, and consumer law. He has advised and litigated on behalf of global technology companies, fintechs, and urban mobility platforms. He holds postgraduate specializations in Digital Law (UERJ) and Administrative Law (PUC-SP), and has published an article in a collective book by UERJ and ITS Rio.

At NYU, Breno is pursuing an LL.M. in Competition, Innovation and Information Law (CIIL).

🇧🇷✨ Breno Maia é nosso Diretor de Relações Institucionais, responsável por fortalecer as relações da BLS com instituições, parceiros e a comunidade jurídica em geral ao longo do ano acadêmico de 2026-2027.

Breno é advogado brasileiro, natural de Belém/PA, com mais de dez anos de experiência em São Paulo nas áreas de Direito da Tecnologia, Propriedade Intelectual e Direito do Consumidor. Assessorou e atuou no contencioso de empresas globais de tecnologia, fintechs e plataformas de mobilidade urbana. É pós-graduado em Direito Digital (UERJ) e em Direito Administrativo (PUC-SP), e publicou artigo em obra coletiva da UERJ e do ITS Rio.

Na NYU, Breno cursa o LL.M. com concentração em Competition, Innovation and Information Law (CIIL).

🇺🇸✨ Rafael Simoes is our Co-Director of Media & Communications, responsible for BLS’s communications, digital presence, and media strategy throughout the 2026–2027 academic year.

Rafael is a Brazilian-trained lawyer from São Paulo and a graduate of PUC-SP School of Law. He has over 15 years of legal experience, beginning his career in M&A and corporate law before focusing on privacy, data protection, and compliance. He has worked at leading Brazilian law firms and served as Legal, Compliance & Privacy Officer at fintech companies in the open finance and credit sectors, where he helped build legal and compliance functions from the ground up.

At NYU, Rafael is pursuing an LL.M. with a focus on privacy, data protection, and information law.

🇺🇸 Maria Luiza Galati is our Director of Media & Communications, responsible for BLS’s communications, digital presence, and media strategy throughout the 2026–2027 academic year.

Maria Luiza is a fourth-year law student at FGV Direito SP. For three years, she worked at FGV’s Centro de Assistência Jurídica Saracura (CAJU), providing pro bono legal assistance in civil, labor, and family law matters. She also gained experience in Tax Law as an intern at Pinheiro Neto Advogados.

She is currently spending a semester at NYU School of Law as an exchange student, where she is broadening her legal perspective and further developing her interest in Tax Law.

Maria Luiza é estudante do quarto ano de Direito na FGV Direito SP. Durante três anos, integrou o Centro de Assistência Jurídica Saracura (CAJU), onde prestou assistência jurídica pro bono nas áreas cível, trabalhista e de família. Também adquiriu experiência em Direito Tributário como estagiária no Pinheiro Neto Advogados.

Atualmente, cursa um semestre de intercâmbio na NYU School of Law, onde busca ampliar sua perspectiva jurídica e aprofundar seu interesse em Direito Tributário.

🇺🇸 Anaïs Guille is our Head of Events, responsible for planning and organizing BLS events throughout the 2026–2027 academic year.

Anaïs is a French-trained lawyer with Brazilian roots in Rio de Janeiro. She holds a degree in Business Law from the Sorbonne and a degree in Business and Management from HEC Paris. Before joining NYU, she gained experience in both transactional and litigation matters.

At NYU, Anaïs is pursuing the Traditional LL.M., focusing on international dispute resolution, particularly arbitration.

🇺🇸✨ Luisa Batista is our Treasurer, responsible for supporting the financial management and organization of BLS projects for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Luisa is a Brazilian banking and finance lawyer with extensive experience in banking products, financial services, payments, credit products, contracts, and regulatory matters.

At NYU, she is pursuing an LL.M. in Corporation Law, with a focus on corporate and financial law. She was awarded a scholarship from Itaú Unibanco to pursue her LL.M. at NYU.

🇺🇸✨ Vanessa Campos is our Co-President, responsible for the overall coordination of BLS projects for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Vanessa is a Brazilian tax lawyer and has nearly nine years of experience in tax law, including four years at a Big Four firm and almost five years at one of Brazil’s leading law firms. Her practice has focused on complex tax matters involving major Brazilian and multinational companies, with experience in both tax advisory and litigation.

At NYU, she is pursuing an LL.M. in International Taxation and was awarded a merit-based scholarship.

🇧🇷✨ Vanessa Campos é nossa Co-Presidente, sendo responsável pela coordenação geral dos projetos da BLS para o ano acadêmico 2026–2027.

Vanessa é advogada tributarista brasileira e possui quase nove anos de experiência em Direito Tributário, incluindo quatro anos em uma Big Four e quase cinco anos em um dos principais escritórios de advocacia do Brasil. 🇺🇸✨ Clara Couto is our Co-President, responsible for the overall coordination of BLS projects for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Clara is a Brazilian-trained lawyer from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and graduated summa cm laude from PUC Minas School of Law. Before joining NYU, she worked for over five years with cross-border M&A, Venture Capital, and corporate transactions, advising companies and investors on matters involving Brazil and the United States.

At NYU, she is pursuing an LL.M. in Corporation Law and was awarded a merit-based scholarship.
