July is starting off super nice.

My best friend finally got to take home "April Showers" this past weekend as we celebrated my dad's birthday.

This year has been rough but I feel clarity coming on. A lot of changes happening, but never giving up on this wonderful dream.

I am happy to be showcasing "Phobos" at The 12th Annual Yonkers Artist Showcase. Come to opening night May 18th from 6pm- 9pm at Yonkers Arts building.

Opening Exhibition: Wednesday May18 (6pm-9pm)
Yonkers Arts Weekend: May21st & May22nd (11am-6pm)
Gallery Viewing Hours: Saturdays 12pm-4pm
Duration of the show: 3 Months.

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to introduce myself,
I am Rosa Fortys.
I am a mother of 3 wonderful kids, wife to an Army Veteran, an Immigrant from Mexico, and Artist since the age of 12.

I was admired for my creative skills since a child, but I took on illustration when I was in middle school and decided I was going to take the Artist path when I was In high school.

I love painting because I feel like I can express myself authentically. I took on watercolor about 8 years ago, when I couldn't bear not knowing how some of the most magical pieces I've seen were made with watercolor. I have always enjoyed painting women, because they are reflections of myself in my feminine.

Other things I also like to do is gardening, even though I believe my husband has the greener thumb, plants grow better when we both do it.
