We're launching a series of talks with NYU College of Global Public Health exploring how music can inspire public conversations about health and contribute to community engagement in disease prevention and recovery during health crises. Our premiere discussion on November 15th features Iskwé, an Indigenous pop and electronic music singer from Canada who received a nomination (Canadian Grammy Award) for Indigenous Music Album of the Year in 2018 for her second album "The Fight Within." In discussion with NYU Professor Carlos Chirinos, Iskwé will share how music has helped her advocate for su***de prevention among indigenous people in Canada, gender equity and the role of language, culture and music in public health. 🎶
