I had such a wonderful afternoon gather_here yesterday learning to quilt. Thank you so much to teacher Laura! I’ve got the bug and need to keep going! I have my sights set on maybe someday making one of Lo & Behold Stitchery beautiful quilts. It was so much fun to be an absolute beginner and was the perfect thing to experience as we kick off our own learn to knit class this week. Note to self- seek out being a beginner more!

It’s the final day to join us for this year’s Learn to Knit Week! We officially kick off the fun tomorrow 🎉

Comment LEARN to join us 🙌
When I first had the idea for Learn to Knit Week, I had true beginners in mind. I was thinking about people who had never touched needles before, let alone created something that they could actually wear and proudly say “I MADE it!”

It wasn’t until we started sharing about this course with our community that I realized how many knitters were interested in learning a different style of knitting. I’ve gotten lots of questions about which style I’ll be teaching and I’m happy to say that I’ll be demonstrating BOTH Continental and English styles. Whether you’re an English “thrower” or a Continental “picker,” if you’ve been looking to learn and master the other way of knitting, this course might just be the ticket!

Injury prevention, increased knitting speeds, two-handed colorwork, and being able to teach others more effectively are just some of the benefits of mastering both knitting styles. I’ve also found that going back-to-basics can help undo some bad habits we pick up along the way. As always, it’s an opportunity to take what resonates and leave the rest. Added bonus, you finish with a cute beanie at the end of it!

We kick off tomorrow and I so hope you’ll join us for the fun! Details at the link in bio 🥰

Most knitters I know have a go-to pattern that they keep coming back to again and again. Maybe you have a few of them!

For me, that pattern is the First Bloom Beanie, the hat pattern we created for our Learn to Knit Week. It’s such a simple and QUICK knit that it’s become my go to for gift knitting. I made one for every single one of my son’s teachers last year and it was so satisfying.

This is a great pattern for beginners and there’s still a few days to join us for Learn to Knit Week. Head to the link below for all the details and to get signed up. Or pass along to a friend who has been looking to learn!
