I made a visit yesterday to the neighborhood where Theater for the New City is located in the East Village of Manhattan. I'm getting familiar with the area so I can recommend restaurants, hotels and parking for folks who come to see the play in January. It's a great neighborhood.

I took a little walk to the West Village and came upon this place: The Stonewall Inn. This is where in 1969 the battle for LGBT rights began. Seeing this place in person made me proud and sad at the same time. We had come so far, but that progress (as it is for many other minorities) is being decimated.

My play is about bullying, but it is really about finding and being who you are!

Greetings!

I have been busy the past four months checking out current Broadway plays and musicals as we prepare for the upcoming production of Getting COMPLETE, opening at the Theater for the New City, on Jan 14, for a 3-week run!

Going to theater to me is always inspiring. This has been especially true as I am also a producer of the upcoming production, in addition to being the playwright. It sets a very high bar - "oh, wow, that's amazing; we can't do that but..." It creates a mindset for thinking creatively.
