Kristen V. Carter is an award-winning television executive producer, filmmaker, and educator from Newark, New Jersey. Her credits include The Voice, ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood, and the PBS concert special GOSPEL Live! Presented by Henry Louis Gates, Jr., featuring John Legend and Erica Campbell.

She is the founder of Trust Your Magic, a transformational brand, workshop series, and podcast that empowers creatives to trust their instincts, refine their craft, and take purpose-driven action.

Kristen also serves as Site Director and Adjunct Professor for Hofstra University’s Hofstra LA Semester program, where she mentors emerging talent to build confidence, clarity, and sustainable creative careers.

Russell Taylor, M.A. is an interdisciplinary artist, singer-songwriter, producer, and cultural leader whose work bridges music, storytelling, and education. A VH1 You Oughta Know artist, he has performed on stages ranging from the Apollo Theater to Moscow and collaborated with artists including Mary J. Blige, Lalah Hathaway, and Estelle. His music has been featured on series such as Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Fosters, and BlackInk Crew.

Beyond performance, Taylor is the Executive Director of the SoulLife Foundation, host of Soulversations on SiriusXM Silk, and an educator with residencies at Berklee College ofMusic. As moderator of Crush Your Craft, he brings a rare blend of artistic rigor, industry insight, and lived experience—guiding creatives toward clarity, sustainability, and purpose in their work.
