Women You Thought You Knew: A Trilogy

Women You Thought You Knew: A Trilogy The full production of the entire trilogy of full length plays about 3 different women that we usually have preconceived notions about is coming soon.

"Women You Thought You Knew" is a trilogy of 3 full length plays about 3 different women viewed as society's so-called "bad girls". "The Grinder" is about Lauren Lamonte aka "Diamond" who though past her prime as a st****er has a hard time giving up what for years has been a very lucrative gig. She obsesses about survival after being abandoned in adolescence and fending for herself. She resists drama at all costs but a one-night-stand with a long time regular sends her life into a tailspin. "Silk Stockings and a Bible" is about Harlem chorus girl Fannie Mae Brown aka "Della Star" who after a very glamorous life dancing and singing in top clubs during the Swing Era becomes a "church lady" in later years. She ponders regrets of her past and the present. "Wild Child" is about Susan Li a party animal from the Disco Era. She likes s*x, drugs, and disco and is the black sheep of her image-conscious family of high achievers. Because of her free spirit she is viewed as irresponsible and is undermined by family and friends. But a strung out, shell shock, Viet Nam veteran sees the diamond within. Full production goes up during Women's History Month 2017 after stage readings and numerous workshop productions!
