🌹 In Loving Memory of Lillette Jenkins-Wisner

“Queen of the Keys”

Five years have passed since our beloved mother, Lillette Jenkins-Wisner, took her final bow on August 25, 2020, at the age of 96. To the world, she was a celebrated concert pianist, lovingly nicknamed the “Queen of the Keys” by her dear friend Duke Ellington. To us, she was the heartbeat of our family—our teacher, our inspiration, our guiding light.

Her hands touched the piano with brilliance, but it was her heart that touched humanity. She believed that music was more than sound—it was healing, it was hope, it was a gift meant to be shared. That belief carried her beyond the stage, leading her to establish Lillette’s Foundation for the Arts 501c3 in 2004, so that others might find light through music and the performing arts.

As her daughters, Adrienne Lillette Harris and Michele Harris-Carter, we carry her torch with reverence and love. Through the Foundation, we continue her humanitarian work, shining a light on causes that mattered deeply to her: the foundation started with music-and arts programs, but has included the causes of mental health, homelessness, and survivors of traumatic brain injury within the entertainment community. In every effort, we hear her voice reminding us, “Use your gifts to lift others.”

Though she no longer walks beside us, her music still fills the air, her wisdom still steadies us, and her love lives on in every life touched by her generosity. We miss her every day, but we are grateful to be her daughters—and to continue a legacy that will never fade.

With eternal love,
Adrienne & Michele

Don’t miss Lillette’s Foundation for the Arts and Harris & Harris production of “Killing Me Softly” (With Her Song) tribute to the late great pianist and vocalist Roberta Flack. The show features Grammy Award winning musician, and our musical director Jeanine McAdams. Surprise guest vocalists along with song stylist MZChele will join her. We’ll be in Florida to meet and greet our friends, family, and supporters at The Palladium Theatre Cabaret Room on September 28th. Tickets are available at the box office.

I’m back! This is Sincere, the Polite Poet and I wanted to share a part of my journey. I hope you’re just and well, any order will do. My first piece of input into a stage performance through my management team, was my reading a poem that I wrote in the stage performance, “Let the Music Play”, that was in Columbia Maryland at the Slayton Theatre. It was strange to hear my voice coming over the speakers. Before then, I was in an award winning documentary entitled, “Uncomfortably Comfortable”. I also had a book of poetry published, back in 2006 titled, “Depth Without Water, Volume 1”. Now that I am blessed with a management team and a publicist, the sky, is “not” the limit. What’s coming, is my opening up with Mz Chele songstress, as I poetically intertwine verses with her melodic soulfulness, in a Johnny Guitar Watson remix, of “Ta Ta You Baby”, for Grammy Award winning Jeanine McAdams in Florida, in the stage presentation of, “Killing Me Softly With Her Song”, a tribute to Roberta Flack. This will be in September, on the 28th, at the Palladium, side door Cabaret. Despite my shyness and turtle-type-demeanor, my management team has used my drawbacks to give me a platform for comebacks. So whatever your situation is, you have a gift, something that you naturally do with ease that is extraordinary and marketable. It could be your painful past, it could be your writing, drawing, singing, cooking, fighting, speaking, building, coaching, whatever anyone has ridiculed and teased you about, could be your claim to fame. If you do it good, well, consistently, you need a publicist and management team. Any star that you admire, not in the night sky, is connected with a management team, publicist, agent, etc. Don’t let anyone convince you that you are not extraordinary. Ordinary people will do that. Extraordinary people are helium, unselfishly. Thank you for your time and eyes. Stay just, safe and healthy.
I’m here and I’m not going nowhere!!

This is Sincere, dubbed the “Polite Poet”, and dubbed the Genesis of Genius”, by my magical and extraordinary management team. I say that, because it is because of them, Harris & Harris Productions, that I am “Back”, on social media. They have been grooming me, due to my being a turtle when I was introduced to them by my sister, Rochelle. Between being shy and having hid behind pen and paper for decades, they have transformed my life, where I can no longer hide behind the pen and paper. They have shown me that not only did I need them, but I need you. I really didn’t understand the power of social media, because as a turtle, I was living/surviving, in a bubble. And I’m definitely not about the lies, so there’s no Ai here. The only Ai I know is Allen Iverson. But I’m being shown a few things, so that I can be in the line, instead of behind it. I am proof, that you can go through traumatic things and come away, even through the shame, regret and despair, and have a story that can and will empower others by giving them hope and motivation. I was so low that I couldn’t even see my gift that I was using almost daily. Writing. And it’s because of what my management team saw, that they dubbed me “Genesis of Genius”. They explained to me, that that was my gift. And that gift is the ability to write poetry, stories, and lyrics, on any topic, in any genre, almost instantly. And, “Polite Poet”, is said to be part of my persona. I was raised to be mannerly/courteous. Just know, that what you see is never what you get. And, what you get is never what you saw. We’re all a lot more than what we show or say, sometimes less. I will speak to some of the many accomplishments that my management team has produced, and platforms, with my writing and my voice. Please be patient with me. I’m not going anywhere, but forward and up. Thanks to this magnificent team and a positive attitude. All I want to do is help. And that’s what my management team does, and is doing. Thank you. Stay with me.

You can’t love without truth. And truth won’t be practiced unless love is present. It’s a journey that becomes more difficult with every lie. You shrink a little bit more with every truth avoidance. And lying is borne of fear. And all this is just my take on it. It’s not a universal truth. Just mine. Appreciate the eyes. Polite Poet/Genesis of Genius

It was good connecting with the brother Jah Smalls. His team are doing strong and memorable work. Thank you for that input

Words are power, taken for granted

Chosen correctly, it makes wrong slanted

It’s about building and growing, from the inside out

It can be quiet, no need to holler or shout

Truth is the key, unlocking the door of lies

Consistency of such, is an unwrapped prize

Even if it doesn’t rhyme, poetry is a lift

Truth in content, makes it an empowering gift
