Aegon’s Conquest is finally coming to the big screen and these are the 7 things I NEED to see. 🐉
1. The mysterious letter that stopped Aegon
This might actually be the thing I’m most curious about. After years of conflict with Dorne, Princess Deria Martell delivered Aegon a letter from Prince Nymor. Aegon read it, reportedly clenched his hand so hard it bled, burned the letter and then did something almost nobody expected. He agreed to peace. Fire & Blood never tells us what that letter said. Whether the movie finally gives us an answer or keeps George’s mystery alive, I need to see that scene.
2. Aegon’s Dream
House of the Dragon introduced the idea that Aegon didn't conquer Westeros purely for power. He had dreamed of a terrible threat coming from the North and believed Westeros needed to be united against it. I really want to see how the movie handles this. Was the prophecy truly central to Aegon’s decision? How much did Visenya and Rhaenys know?
3. Torrhen Stark becoming the King Who Knelt
Imagine the scene.
The Northern army reaches the Trident prepared to fight. Torrhen sees Aegon’s forces and his dragons and realizes what resistance could cost his people. Then he kneels. But I especially want to know whether the adaptation connects Torrhen's decision to Aegon's Dream. A private conversation between Aegon and Torrhen about the threat beyond the Wall could completely change how we view that famous moment.
4. More Valyrian lore
Dragon dreams. Valyrian traditions. Magic. Dragonlords.
The Targaryens were already living on Dragonstone for generations before the Conquest, and this is an incredible opportunity to show us more of the culture they carried out of Valyria.
Give me as much Valyrian lore as possible.
5. Harrenhal BEFORE Balerion
This one could be spectacular.
We’ve only ever known Harrenhal as that enormous, twisted ruin. The movie gives us the chance to see Harren the Black’s supposedly unconquerable castle at its absolute peak.
And then Balerion arrives. Seeing the Black Dread on a cinema screen for the first time might be worth the ticket alone. 🐉
6. The Field of Fire
Aegon on Balerion. Visenya on Vhagar. Rhaenys on Meraxes.
All three together against the combined forces of the Reach and Westerlands. We’ve seen dragon battles before, but we've never seen the three dragons of the Conquest unleashed together.
This needs to be absolutely MASSIVE on the big screen.
7. The forging of the Iron Throne
After spending years watching people fight over that throne, imagine finally seeing its beginning. The swords surrendered by Aegon’s defeated enemies, forged into the symbol of his new realm. There’s something incredibly satisfying about the possibility of finally watching the Iron Throne being created.
And honestly, seven isn't enough.
I want Aegon’s first landing. Visenya. Rhaenys. Orys Baratheon. The Last Storm. The Field of Fire. The King Who Knelt. Dorne. Balerion at full strength.
We’ve spent more than a decade hearing stories about the Conqueror. Now I want to actually see the legend. 🐉👑
