We loved reading the wonderful new book “Just Ask” written by Justice Sonia Sotomayor! We learned so much about how to talk to each other about what makes us special and about an inspiring member of our NYC community! Thank you for all you do Justice! It makes such a difference to our students at WHCS!

It was a privilege to join Columbia University Irving Medical Center Government and Community Affairs and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital at their annual Columbia University Medical Center Neighborhood Fund Awards Ceremony!

It was such a joy to attend a private screening of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s new film VIVO. Thank you so much to Luis A. Miranda for inviting Washington Heights Choir School to join you in celebrating this beautiful film. Thank you so much to everyone who helped us take our students to see IN THE HEIGHTS yesterday!!! Thank you to 125th st AMC’s amazing staff for all their help and to AMC for having us! Our students absolutely loved it— they were dancing out of the theater ❤️❤️❤️
It’s hard to express what it can mean to a child to see their community celebrated on screen. The oohs, and wide eyes, and gasps, and smiles of pride and joy when the lead got on the same train as our kids use, or when all the characters met in our kids’ favorite park say it all! THANK YOU for helping us make that happen
