Grateful to the fans, grateful for this incredible musical legacy that is Prince, and grateful to still be out here keeping this music alive — getting people out of the house, off their screens, and together xPeRIeNCing LIVE music.

One of my favorite moments from this weekend wasn’t even really a song. It was this little jam within a song.

Had to give Allen some! 🎹🎸

We did a bass/piano swap. No choreography. No tracks. No click. No sequencer. No Autotune. No predetermined solo lengths. Nothing planned.

Just real musicians listening, reacting, taking chances, and creating something that will never happen exactly the same way again.

To me, that’s the greatest way we can honor Prince’s legacy...period!

Prince wasn’t just one of the greatest entertainers who ever lived. He was one of the greatest musicians who ever lived. If you’re going to pay tribute to him, I believe the musicianship has to lead the way!

That’s why, for 16 years, Marshall Charloff & The Purple XPeRIeNCE has never used pre-recorded tracks or technology to create the excitement. It’s about REAL musicians playing in the moment, taking risks, feeding off each other, and feeding off the audience.

I guess I never really know what’s going on behind me. 😂

I was completely in the moment playing Purple Rain last night at the Newberry Opera House in South Carolina. Ron had a nose itch? Tracey found his light..

I didn’t realize any of it until this vid was sent to me afterward.

Sixteen years together… and the fun never seems to stop. 💜

One of my favorite moments of every show.

This was with 1,700 people, yet somehow it still felt intimate, like we were all gathered around the piano.

This piano medley is never planned. I ask the audience what they want to hear, read the room, and let the music lead the way. Every night is different, and these were just a couple of the requests from the incredible crowd at the Clyde Theatre on Saturday night.

To me, this is the spirit of the music Prince inspired in so many of us: trust your musicianship, be present, and let the moment happen. No tracks. No script. No safety net. Just a piano, a voice, and a room full of people creating something together that will never happen exactly the same way again.

Moments like these remind me what a privilege it is to make music for a living. 💜🎹

Here’s a little 2½-minute glimpse of an unforgettable Indiana weekend. 💜

Two sold-out nights. If you weren’t there, here’s a taste of the energy, the music, and the crowds that made both shows so special.

Hendricks Live Plainfield, IN on Friday. The Clyde Theatre Fort Wayne, IN on Saturday. Thousands of voices singing every word, every generation in the room, and 100% live music with no tracks. These are the moments that remind us why we do this.

A huge thank you to the incredible staffs and crews at both venues. They were among the best we’ve ever worked with.

And a special shout-out to our friend Tad Shaffer and everyone at Sweetwater for an unforgettable behind-the-scenes tour before Saturday’s show. Amazing hospitality.

To everyone who came out, sang, danced, and made memories with us… thank you. Don’t take nights like these for granted. Live music is something special.

We’ll be back in Indiana on November 14 at Paramount Theatre Centre and Ballroom Anderson, and we already can’t wait to return to Hendricks Live and the Clyde Theatre next year.
