At the theater for opening of Fancy Dancer! I’ve spent more of my life as a playwright than a performer so I am still adjusting to the concept that opening is a beginning instead of an ending. Let’s have fun tonight, then come back and do it tomorrow. ❤️

Back from our ☀️ visit. I keep 🪴 in my dressing room to clean the air. In exchange I come early and take them outside for some sunshine. Something about sitting outside a theater with a plant just makes rehearsal start right.

Gonna need that ☀️and 🌱 calm for our first audience tonight at History Theatre

Tell your people that you love them. I have never regretting making the time to call or visit someone. I have regretted when I didn’t.

This is me on the morning I found out three people in my life died. Totally unrelated people. I went to ballet class because ballet is always my safe space. I wanted to be with people instead of in guest housing, but I was so distracted. We cut rehearsal down to essentials and stopped early.

Last week a fourth person from my past was killed in an accident. I am at that age where the deaths get closer together, but three in a day took the wind out of me. Be safe. Eat well. Show love.

Old dancer hack. I need knee protection, but I hate the bulk of knee pads and can’t stand something wrapped around my knee. They make silicone ones but folks complain that they are too big, so I looked to my big b**b girls and got DD triangle ni**le covers. Perfect! Under tights they stay in place for a full rehearsal and are invisible. Just thick enough for what I’m doing.

Yikes. One great but exhausting summer. We had folks visiting or were traveling for 11 weeks straight. I’m ready to sit in St. Paul for 5 weeks and perform my show.
